Just add water to the humidity sponges every 3-5 days or as needed to keep your hide box nice and humid. The replacement sponges are easy to disinfect by washing or using a microwave. Use them until you feel they need to be replaced. Then when you are done with them toss them out because they are made of biodegradable cellulose!
